Modeling Tips
Tips and release notes for creating and editing HL7 message models using UML.
Development of this tooling is supported by the U.S. Deptartment of Veteran's Affairs.
- To get started, use the example UML model that was created by importing MIF files (from September 2007 ballot) for PRPA_MT201301UV02, plus all referenced COCT components. The example ZIP contains a .uml model file and two class diagrams created from two of its packages.
- For general tips on using the class diagram editor, see the release notes.
- You can colorize a class diagram according to the HL7 RIM types by assigning HDF stereotypes (these are assigned automatically when imported from MIF), then open the diagram context menu and choose "Assign RIM Colors".
